This year we were excited to introduce a brand new event. We invited Service children to North Yorkshire County Hall to take part in ‘The Big Conversation’. This event aimed to give the children an opportunity to share their views on the joys and challenges of being part of a Force’s family here in North Yorkshire. We were looking forward to hearing their voices through a series of special workshops being facilitated through North Yorkshire Youth Voice and Creative Engagement.
The children and young people who joined us spoke eloquently about their experiences. We will be using their words to help us to build a Service Children’s Promise for North Yorkshire. A charter which will set out what military families can expect during their time and the support that will be available to them.
