Service Children Community Choir
A place where voices come together and hearts connect. This uplifting choir welcomes children from Armed Forces families, creating joy through music while building confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging. Whether performing locally or simply rehearsing, it’s more than singing—it’s community in harmony.

Homestart
A nationwide network of volunteers offering in-home and remote support for families facing tough times. Home-Start understands the pressures of military life and provides tailored help to reduce stress and strengthen wellbeing.

SSAFA
Providing practical, emotional, and financial support to Armed Forces families. SSAFA’s experienced teams offer help through housing advice, welfare services, and crisis support, ensuring families never face challenges alone.

Reading Force
A shared reading initiative that brings Armed Forces families closer through the power of stories. Reading Force provides free books and scrapbooks to help families read together—whether at home or separated by deployment. It’s a fun, meaningful way to stay connected, spark conversations, and build resilience.

DCS
DCS is the Ministry of Defence’s dedicated organisation supporting the education and wellbeing of Service children. Their mission: Educate the Child – Support the Family – Defend the Nation

AFF
The Army Families Federation (AFF) is the independent voice of Army personnel and their families. We work to improve the quality of life for the Army family, wherever you are in the world.

RAF FF
The RAF Families Federation provides an independent voice for all personnel (single, married or in a partnership) and all of your families.

NFF
Providing support, driving change and championing RN and RM serving families as they navigate both serving and civilian life challenges.

Send Inclusion
Support in schools for children with special educational needs, and specialist SEND hubs.

Armed Forces Education Trust
The Armed Forces Education Trust is a charity working for children and young adults whose education has been compromised or put at risk as a result of parents’ past or current service in our Armed Forces. The grants they give make a difference to young lives, helping improve their educational opportunities or supporting special skills or talents.

Navy Children's Charity
The Naval Children’s Charity has been helping Naval Children since 1825, for nearly 200 years. If you serve or have served in the Naval Service (Royal Navy, Royal Marines, QARNNS, WRNS, Reserves or Royal Fleet Auxiliary) and you have a child/children up to and including the age of 25 we may be able to help you.

Scotty's Little Soldiers
Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a British charity supporting children whose parents have died while serving in the armed forces. It was founded in 2010 by Mrs Nikki Scott.

Dandelion Military Families
A grassroots organisation committed to improving military parental mental health and early parenthood experiences for the Tri-service community.

Early Help
The Early Help Team offers timely, compassionate support to families across North Yorkshire, helping children and young people thrive from birth to age 19. Working in partnership with schools, health services, and community organisations, they provide guidance on parenting, emotional wellbeing, transitions, and more.

SENDIASS
SENDIASS North Yorkshire is a service for parents and carers of young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs and /or disabilities (SEND) as well as young people themselves. It is impartial, which means it is not bias and gives confidential information, advice and support that is arms length to the Local Authority.

Huggable Heroes
Huggable Heroes® are for Everyone! Everyone has someone special in their lives that they miss. Whether it be a bereavement, relationship breakdown, missing bedtime due to long shifts/work commitments or children struggling to settle into nursery/school, Huggable Heroes® will help.
