Across the country, Service children bring strength, resilience, and a rich diversity of experiences to our schools and communities. Yet their needs can be unique—and no single local authority can address every challenge alone.
That’s why we’re building a Community of Champions: a network of committed professionals from local authorities who lead, influence, or support work relating to Service children.
Our aim is simple: connect, collaborate, and create positive change—together.
Who We’re Looking For
We want to reach local authority colleagues who:
- Lead on Service Children’s education, inclusion, or wellbeing
- Hold responsibility for Service Pupil Premium, admissions, attendance, SEND, or safeguarding
- Coordinate military‑connected initiatives in schools or the wider community
- Are passionate about improving outcomes for Service children and their families

What We Will Do
The aim is that our ‘Champions’ will meet once every term to:
- Share progress, challenges, and best practice
- Showcase what’s working well in different local areas
- Develop joint initiatives and resources
- Strengthen consistency of support across regions
- Build a trusted community of professionals who understand the needs of military‑connected families
The aim is that these meetings will be supportive, practical, and focused on real impact for children and schools.
